About SpotLab
SpotLab is a free tool for making your own spot-the-match card game: from photos, drawings, emoji, shapes or letters, ready to print.
Why it exists
Children and adults love the game where any two cards share exactly one picture. It trains attention and naming, and a round takes seconds. We wanted parents and teachers to be able to tailor it: with the letters children are learning, with vocabulary, with photos of the family or the class.
Your pictures stay with you
Everything happens right in your browser: the preview, background removal and the final PDF. Pictures are never uploaded. Your draft is stored only in your browser; the background-removal model is the only thing downloaded, and nothing is ever sent back.
Ready to print
Cards are laid out on A4 or Letter paper with bleed and cutting lines, round or square, with backs for double-sided printing. A test card with a 5 cm line checks that your printer did not shrink anything.
Who is behind it
SpotLab is part of Predškoláčik, a project creating learning materials and games for preschool children. It is developed by Kromka.IT. The tool is free with no registration; it is supported by ads and voluntary donations.
Fonts, artwork and technology
Headings are set in Baloo 2, body text and the PDF in Nunito (SIL Open Font License 1.1). Emoji come from Twemoji (© Twitter, Inc. and contributors, CC BY 4.0); their Slovak and English names come from the Unicode CLDR. Backgrounds are removed by the BiRefNet model (MIT licence) through Transformers.js. SpotLab is not affiliated with Asmodee Group; DOBBLE and SPOT IT! are its trademarks.
